Move Tabbed Pages

This can be a helpful tip if you use tabs in Safari. There can be a number of reasons why it will help, but the reason I use it most frequently is that I am researching something, have four or five tabs open, and decide I only need one.

Create new tabs in Safari by clicking on the tab icon in your Safari toolbar

If the tab icon isn’t displayed in your toolbar you can easily add it by selecting View > Customize Toolbar, grabbing the tabs icon and dragging it to your toolbar.

Back to the tip – click and hold the tab in the title bar.

Drag it down and then, still holding the button down, place it where you want it on your desktop and release the button.  You now have two independent windows without going through the steps to create a new window in Safari and reopen your web page of choice.
