If you are lucky enough to have access to an Apple Store, and therefore, a Genius Bar, then you know how great it is to be able to take your Apple product in for diagnosis and help by people who know what they are doing.
Here are a couple of tips that will make your trip to the Genius Bar more successful for both you and the genius.
Get An Appointment
First of all, of course, you have to make an appointment. You do that on-line by visiting http://www.apple.com/retail/ and and finding your nearest store(s) by entering your zip code or city in the field provided.
You will be taken to a list of appropriate stores, click on the one you want and you will be taken to information about that store. One of the options will be to schedule an appointment for the Genius Bar. Click on it and follow the directions.
A genius only has a limited time to help you, so you want to help him or her. The very best thing you can do is take a Postit and write down the symptoms of your problems and hand it to the genius. If there is a periodic problem such as your screen does funny things, try and do a screen capture so you can show the genius what you have been seeing. Trust me on this, they will be grateful. And they don’t need a litany of all the things you have already tried. It wastes time. There are steps they have to follow.
Your genius is going to do his or her best to help you no matter what, but if you can do these two things before you go in, you both will enjoy the experience more.
