Address Book > Google Map

Thursday, May 22, 2008, 10:14 AM – Tips and Hints

I get lost very easily. No really, I have it down to a fine art. Therefore I use Google Maps frequently.

The Mac Address Book has a neat little attribute built in that will take you instantly to a map for anyone listed in your Address Book files as long as you have their street address included in the the record.

Hold the cursor over the address and hold down the Control button. A menu will open. Choose “Map of”.

Google Maps will open with a map showing the location of the address.

I had some trouble with this when I clicked on an address with an apartment number. Instead of going directly to a map, I got the Google map field with a message that they couldn’t find the location. When I deleted the apartment number the location popped up.
